The Story

  • Tester light glows on a live circuit.Ā 
  • Detects AC/DC Voltages.
  • Complete with pocket clip.
  • Ideal for general electrical testing for appliances, outlets, plugs, switches, and short circuits.Ā 
  • Test Switches: with power on, throw switch to "on" position. Tester will continue to glow if switch is defective.
  • Test Outlets: if outlet is alive, tester will glow.
  • Test Spark Plugs: to find a shorted plug, have motor running; a shorted plug will give no flash, a dirty plug gets a dim flash, and a good plug gets a bright flash, one line from tester should be grounded to engine. The other line must be hooked on to plug wire.
  • Test Condensers: to check a condenser-charge condenser across a line, now disconnect it from line and let it die-tester will glow if condenser has a low leak or none at all.
  • Test for Current: to determine type or current- on DC only one element of tester will glow, on AC both elements will glow.
  • Test for Frequency: to determine frequency-25 cycles AC will glow steady. Tester may also be used to test carious circuits of radio, and other apparatus.
  • Test Polyphase Line: use two testers-when one phase is overloaded, the respective bulb will dim or go out together.Ā Ā
